What's So Wrong With Illegal Window Tint?

The sun is starting to shine more and more and longer days! Hooray! That means summer is almost here, right? With that in mind, we thought we'd shed a little light on what is up with illegal window tint. We've been having many customers wanting darker tint than is legal, and we just DON'T DO IT. Why? Here's a few thoughts:

Have you ever pulled up to a four way stop at the same exact time as another vehicle? What do we do? Usually we try to make eye contact with the other driver to establish some type of communication. However, what if they have illegal tint on their vehicle and you can't see them? This could make it very difficult to determine who should proceed first.

Dark windows can be an obstruction to nighttime driving by hindering the driver's ability to see pedestrians and road signage. It's essentially the same thing as driving at night while wearing sunglasses. If you think we're making this up, check out this article about how a driver AND the business who installed the illegal tint were held accountable for a pedestrian fatality. Law suits over illegal tint is becoming more of a thing. Check out this article.

We don't want that to be you or any of your loved ones, either the one being held accountable, or most importantly, the one who lost their life! Pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists rely on the ability to see each other and making eye contact when sharing the road. We want everyone safe out there!

So, yes, you could go somewhere else and get illegal tint put on your vehicle, but is it really worth it? Do you really want to jeopardize the life of yourself or others? Do you really want to go to someone who is willing to break the law? What does that say about their honesty?

We've been in business for 40 years, doing the fun stuff...honestly!
